Billing cycles run on a 31-day period. If you sign up and use the service for 21 days then pause, your billing cycle stops and you keep the remaining 10 days to use whenever you need them. No waste, no pressure.
One thing to keep in mind: while an experiment is actively running and collecting data, the subscription remains active, that counts as live work. You can pause once a test cycle is complete and there's nothing in progress.
